In the VIVALDI project, yet another milestone has been reached. External validation of the VETPOD device developed at DTU (Technical University of Denmark) for the Salmonella detection is kicked off. The VETPOD along with necessary materials for external ring trials has already reached 5 destinations (Salmonella accredited labs) out of 10 participating labs in the European region. The VETPOD device relies on highly sensitive Loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) principle and ready-to-use cartridge that provides results within 50 minutes for 10 samples and requires minimal training.
